Our aluminum gearbox assembly provides the ultimate level of strength and performance for your LC Racing EMB series or LC12B1 platform. Sold individually.
Latest version updates:
- Widened hole pattern and opened up clearance reliefs so that screw heads do not rub the housing during installation/removal
- Added clearance to allow full steering linkage movement without rubbing
- Moved suspension plate mounting surface outward slightly for improved drop-in fitment with front of chassis
- Moved ring gear side bearing seat and internal walls over to provide room for shims, allowing for personally tuned gear mesh
- Reduced the diameter of locating pins for better fitment with chassis

They do weigh more than the plastic assemblies (obviously, aluminum is heavier than nylon) but the benefits outweigh (no pun intended) any cons. In fact, extra weight down low right in the center of the chassis can be quite beneficial to these little lightweight platforms. OEM nylon housings are 12 grams; our aluminum ones are 34 grams.
